Guelf. 64 Weiss. zählt zu den ältesten und textgeschichtlich bedeutsamsten Handschriften in Deutschland. Ihre ältesten Teile stammen aus dem späten 5. Jahrhundert, der Haupttext wurde im frühen 8. Jahrhundert in Norditalien geschrieben. Der Codex ist einer der beiden wichtigsten vollständigen Textzeugen für die Enzyklopädie Isidors von Sevilla (gest. 636). Die Handschrift besteht ganz überwiegend aus Blättern, auf denen dieser Haupttext über ausradierten Texten steht, die aus sieben oder acht spätantiken Vorgängerhandschriften stammen. Unter diesen getilgten, aber noch lesbaren Werken befinden sich die älteste Überlieferung des griechischen Mediziners Galen, Teile von griechischen und lateinischen Evangelien- und Bibelhandschriften, einer der ältesten Texte des Römerbriefkommentars von ‚Ambrosiaster' und vor allem der gotische und lateinische Text von Teilen des Römerbriefs.
Die angestrebte Digitale Edition der Handschrift Cod. These perpendicular cut stones bear inscriptions in the uniquely Irish Ogham alphabet, using a system of notches and horizontal or diagonal lines/scores to represent the sounds of an early form of the Irish language. The stones are inscribed with the names of prominent people and sometimes tribal affiliation or geographical areas. These inscriptions constitute the earliest recorded form of Irish and, as our earliest written records dating back at least as far as the 5th century AD, are a significant resource for historians, as well as linguists and archaeologists. In each case the illustration of the psalm precedes the psalm text it belongs to. This annotated edition of the Utrecht Psalter presents the manuscript in high resolution and explains the way in which the illustrations relate to the texts.
The annotated edition is the successor of the CD-ROM The Utrecht Psalter. Picturing the Psalms of David, which was issued in 1996. It was available online from 2002 to 2011. As both the CD-ROM and online version became outdated, it was decided to digitize the Utrecht Psalter anew, from cover to cover. In October 2013 this digitized version of the Utrecht Psalter, without any annotation, was presented online, with a short introductory text.

This is a beta version though, lacking several features that will be present in the final edition, scheduled for publication in 2014. At the moment only two texts, The Dream of the Rood and Homily 23, are available: the plan is to improve the current user interface and software on the basis of the suggestions and comments that will be sent to us, publish the revised software at some point next year and then progressively put online all the texts after a final cross-revision has been accomplished.
